After much thought and consideration, we have decided to change the aims and objectives of the Ally Cadence Trust. This is not a decision that has been made lightly, but it is one which we feel will benefit us greatly as a charity.
As of 1st June 2013, the Ally Cadence Trust will be dedicated to supporting only Type 1 children. This is the area in which we specialise and we feel that, by changing focus and concentrating on this area, we will ultimately be able to raise more awareness and offer greater support.
Please rest assured that any families that are currently receiving support will continue to do so for as long as they need it. On the rare occasion that a child is diagnosed with SMARD, we will also make our services available to them, as they will be using much of the same equipment that we would loan to a Type 1 SMA child.
We would like to thank each and every one of you for your support so far, which has enabled us to help so many families already. We see these changes as a very positive move forward for the charity and hope that everyone will continue to support the work we are doing and the new ideas that are planned for the future.
